Philosophy

Modesty, neatness and cleanliness are emphasized at FNCS.

The use of uniforms has several significant benefits.

• They promote the mind-set that the school is a special place with special expectations and develop school pride.
• Uniforms Project a positive image to the community and eliminate the pressure of “Dress competition.”
• They present considerable financial savings after the initial purchases.

Guidelines

All Students

• Each student should have a pair of inside and outside shoes
• No coats are to be worn in the classroom. Those desiring additional warmth may wear a sweater or polar fleece that coordinates with school colors (red white and blue).
• No jewelry is to be worn, with the exception of medical necklaces, medical bracelets or watches.
• If ears are pierced students may wear flesh toned studs.

Elementary Boys

• Shirts: Turtlenecks, mock turtlenecks or polo-style (long or short-sleeved) in white, black, navy or red. School logo available if ordered from Land’s End.
• Pants: Twill, docker style in khaki, navy or black (no black shirt / black pants combinations).
• Shoes: Leather, or leather-like dress shoe, loafer or lace-up, in brown or black. Outside shoes may be athletic.

Elementary Girls

• Shirts: Turtlenecks, mock turtlenecks or polo-style (long or short-sleeved) in white, black, navy or red. School logo available if ordered from Land’s End.
• Jumper: V-neck red-and-navy plaid jumper available for purchase from French Toast (navy red plaid), School Belles (Classic pleated in navy and red) or FNCS’s hand-me-down closet.
• Tights: required, in white, black, red or navy
  • Preschool and K5 may wear lightweight pants (not jeans) under jumpers in the classroom.
• Shoes: Leather, or leather-like dress shoe, loafer or lace-up, in brown or black, closed toe and heel. Outside shoes may be athletic.

Jr. High and Senior High Young Men

• Shirts: Turtlenecks, mock turtlenecks or polo-style (long or short-sleeved) in black, navy or red. School logo available if ordered from Land’s End.
• Pants: Twill, docker style in khaki, navy or black.
• Shoes: Leather, or leather-like dress shoe, loafer or lace-up, in brown or black. Outside shoes may be athletic.

Jr. High and Senior High Young Women

• Shirts: Turtlenecks, mock turtlenecks or polo-style (long or short-sleeved) in black, navy or red. School logo available if ordered from Land’s End.
• Skirts: Khaki or navy to below the knee standing or sitting
• Tights: in white, black, red or navy
• Shoes: Leather, or leather-like dress shoe, loafer or lace-up, in brown or black, closed toe and heel. Outside shoes may be athletic.
